On the eigth day of our Festive Flavours countdown you will find, Drunken Sailor Peach Rosemary and Brandy Jam.
Drunken Sailor is a relatively new brand to the Local Pantry Co range, joining us this year with thier Preserved Lemons, Fruits of the Forrest Jam and Jalepeno and Tequilla Relish.
Based in New South Wales, Drunken Sailor Canning Co. is about bringing a bit of humour to the table with a combination of flavour and fun.
We wanted to get to know the brains behind the brand, and so we shot these questions at Justin, and can we just say.... I'm keen for a dinner party with those mystery box ingredients.
How did Drunken Sailor come to be - what was your lightbulb moment in diving into food production?
A big night on the wine and a love for food and cooking.
Your personal favourite item from the range (can we ask that - or is that like choosing a favourite child?)
I always have the smokey tomato relish in my fridge, it's just so versatile. Perfect on a savoury pastry and bacon and eggs in the morning
Your favourite way to use or eat Peach Rosemary and Brandy Jam.
On sourdough toast with a good amount of butter. Also love it on a fried chicken burger.
Your favourite childhood food memory
Coming from a french background I just really enjoyed our lunches when we had no time to cook. Saucison, cheese, crusty bread and a simple green salad.
Your favourite brand from our range that's not yours
Melbourne bushfood. It's time we start adding native indigenous foods in our diet.
